In northern North Gyeongsang'sAI shadow zone, we lay the capillaries.
Yeongyang, Cheongsong, Bonghwa, Yeongdeok, Uiseong — counties where Google Trends records zero AI interest.
Where central infrastructure cannot reach, we pump directly at the periphery.

About YYAIA
About
A civic AI association based in Yeongyang County · Republic of Korea
Laying capillaries in the Republic of Korea’s AI shadow zone — where the central government’s aorta does not reach.
Mission
We build self-sustaining AI education infrastructure in regions the digital economy has overlooked, accelerating regional AI transformation (AX) until everyday use crosses a threshold.
AX is not a one-time training event. It happens when small, practical uses of AI accumulate past a tipping point. We are the place that does not leave a community at the threshold but walks with it past the line.
Why we exist
0
AI search interest in Yeongyang, Cheongsong, Bonghwa, Yeongdeok, Uiseong
Google Trends returns no measurable signal — "AI" is not yet part of everyday language in these counties.
The central government lays down the aorta — major policy, national funding, high-speed digital infrastructure. But the aorta alone does not deliver blood to the periphery.
Someone has to pump at the terminals, meet the community every week, and keep showing up until the threshold is crossed. That capillary is the Yeongyang AI Association.
Vision
01
Access gap
Rural regions need on-the-ground access to AI — instructors present, hardware available, troubleshooting when systems fail. Not online modules alone.
02
Adoption gap
Awareness is not enough. We measure whether residents actually use AI tools in their work and daily lives, and walk with them past the threshold.
03
Income gap
AI adoption must improve livelihoods. We track whether small business owners, farmers, and independent workers see concrete gains in time, cost, or revenue.
What we do
Regional AI education
Free and subsidized courses for residents, seniors, small business owners, and public officials. Curricula prioritize practical, job-relevant AI tools over theory.
AX consulting
Strategic AI transformation engagements with municipal governments and SME manufacturing clusters. We help organizations operationalize AI in real workflows.
AI literacy research
Quantitative reports on regional AI adoption gaps using Google Trends, primary fieldwork, and case studies — shared with policymakers, educators, and media.
Accredited training
Operates as a registered K-Digital Training provider and HRD-Korea instructor hub, ensuring courses carry recognized credentials.

Three-party structure
Three legally separate entities form a distinctive patronage-and-independence structure that demonstrates how non-metropolitan regional capital can sustain grassroots AI literacy without compromising civic mission:
Myeongseong Pharmacy ──(funds)──▶ Myeongseong Simjae ──(partners)──▶ YYAIA
│ │ │
└────────── No capital tie ────────┴───────── No capital tie ──────┘Myeongseong Pharmacy is a regional pharmacy in Yeongyang. It funds Myeongseong Simjae (Dr. Shin’s AI education and AX consulting brand). Simjae partners with YYAIA on regional initiatives. All three remain legally independent — there is no ownership stake, board seat, or operational hierarchy among them. Dr. Shin is not a pharmacist and does not operate Myeongseong Pharmacy.
